Brooks Bandits forward Parker Lalonde, Bandits defenceman Keith McInnis and Chilliwack Chiefs defenceman Lucas Sorace have been named the NAPA Auto Parts 3 Stars of the Week.
1st Star – Parker Lalonde (F) – Brooks Bandits
Lalonde led all BCHL players in points and goals last week with five points and a trio of markers in three games.
After scoring an empty-net goal to seal the Bandits Interior Conference Finals win in Game 6 against the Penticton Vees last Monday, the 21-year-old kept things rolling in the opener of the championship series with a goal and an assist in a 5-3 Game 1 win against the Chilliwack Chiefs. He followed that up with another multi-point performance, picking up another goal and an assist in Saturday’s 4-3 loss in Game 2.
Lalonde is the league leader with 15 playoff goals and is second in points with 23 in 17 postseason contests, just one back of the BCHL lead.
2nd Star – Keith McInnis (D) – Brooks Bandits
McInnis tied for the league lead among defencemen with four points in three games on a goal and three assists.
The second-year Bandit came up clutch for his team in Game 6 of the Interior Conference Finals, contributing a goal and an assist in their 3-1 win to eliminate the Penticton Vees and advance to the Fred Page Cup Finals. He scored the first goal of the game, then had the primary assist on the game-winner early in the third period. In the championship series, he earned an assist in each of the first two games over the weekend.
McInnis leads all BCHL blueliners with 15 playoff points, while his seven goals this postseason are by far the most at his position.
3rd Star – Lucas Sorace (D) – Chilliwack Chiefs
Sorace totaled a goal and two assists for three points during the opening weekend of the Fred Page Cup Finals against the Brooks Bandits.
In Game 1 on Friday night, the Port Moody, B.C. product scored a first-period goal to give Chilliwack the lead, then earned an assist on his team’s third goal of the game in the second period in an eventual 5-3 loss. A night later in Game 2, Sorace assisted on Mateo Mrsic’s game-winning goal in the third period in the Chiefs 4-3 victory to even up the series.
The University of Alaska commit has 14 points this postseason, which ranks third among all BCHL defenders, while his 11 assists are the second most at his position.
